As a wedding photographer in this beautiful city of New York, I get to meet a wonderfully diverse group of couples from many different places in this world. Once in a while, I have couples book a “photo session” during their visit, which is actually a surprise proposal. It’s the perfect surprise, since having a photo shoot while in NYC is totally an awesome idea, and the proposee (yes, I just made that word up) is already expecting a photographer.

This one’s a gallery from one of my most recent such proposals. Mel proposed to his fiancee at The Mall in Central Park, after which we (along with their incredible friends, who also flew in to NY to be there for this moment) walked around Central Park and took group and couple photos at Bethesda Terrace & Fountain and Bow Bridge.

FROM THE FIANCÉ

"The experience was outstanding. He was great at posing the two of us and our friends. Hanel was so kind, attentive and friendly that the all of us felt comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. The photos turned out exceptional. I can’t wait to have our wedding session with him."
